Laura Geller proves that she is still the quintessential makeup maven by putting her own spin on some of the trendiest makeup items out there today: CC creams, liquid liners and lip crayons. And what would a Laura Geller product be without skin-saving ingredients? Read on to see the latest good-for-your skin cosmetics that really do WORK from Laura.
CC Créme Compact Color Correcting Swirl Foundation SPF 25 ($35.00; sold exclusively at QVC and QVC.com in Light, Medium and Tan) is Laura’s “best in class” entry into the world of CC creams. It is a multi-beneficial makeup and anti-aging hybrid; an all-in-one foundation that delivers serious skincare benefits and color-correcting coverage with medium to full coverage.
The amount of coverage I was able to get out of this was something you don’t expect with most CC creams. This acted more like a medium coverage foundation, with the weightless feel of a CC cream. I first applied it with the sponge, spreading it out with my fingers; it covered most of my dark spots and I really didn’t reach for any concealer.
Ideal for all skin types, it delivers rich, creamy color in a convenient pact. Anti-aging dermal peptides improve skin structure and stimulate collagen production for proactive anti-aging benefits:
Vitamin Complex strengthens skin’s natural protective properties
Dermaxyl helps to prevent lines and wrinkles
Omegaplancton prevents skin dehydration and helps build stronger skin
Purple Currant, Dragon Fruit Sorbet & Plum Freeze
Love Me Dew Moisturizing Lip Crayon ($16.00) pampers lips with balm-like moisturizing color and luxurious, buttery shine. The slightly sheer shades never need sharpening — and they have no minty scent to them (which I deeply appreciate!).
Made in Italy, these lip crayons will hydrate lips with unwanted stickiness. Vitamin E keeps lips nourished and conditioned in 6 shades: Watermelon Cooler (tangerine pink), Dragon Fruit Sorbet (bright pink), Lychee Glace (bright coral), Purple Currant (raspberry), Cranberry Glaze (deep cranberry) and Plum Freeze (deep plum). Available February 2014 at ULTA and Ulta.com.
GlamLash Dramatic Volumizing Mascara ($24.00; sold at Ulta) contains a full contact brush that grabs every lash — separating, thickening and lengthening lashes. Lashes appear fuller and longer thanks to the helix brush designed to maximize lashes.
Short bristles load on a maximum amount of product, while the long bristles comb through lashes. The jet black, long-wearing mascara does not clump or smudge. Panthenol, beeswax and caranauba wax nourish and create glossy-looking lashes. I loved how thick this mascara made my lashes look, and it reminded me of the Revlon Voluminous Mascara — it’s just that good!
Eye Calligraphy Liquid Eyeliner Kit ($35.00) — Achieve any type of ferocious cat-eye with this 3-pack of liquid liners. Specific precision tips make distinct shapes, from classic to bold lines. The quick-dry formula stays in place without feathering or running.
Classic Point – Creates a perfect line with thin to moderate results
Fine Point – Imparts a fine line that gets super-close to the lash line for the ultimate eye contour
Slanted Point – Delivers a thick line that is bold and shapes the eye for the ultimate cat-eye look
Laura’s Expert Tip: “Draw a line starting at the inner corner of the upper eyelid. Work toward the outer corner, thickening the line as you go. To prevent the marker tip from drying out, always secure the eyeliner cap after each use. Use short, brush strokes to ensure a clean and perfect line.”
